Time out

As life would have it, it has been a time to take time to attend to other things. This time of year is good for that, so I am happy to change gears for a bit.

Even so, my trips up north seem to inspire paintings of flowers...when I'm not painting farm animals! These two versions of the same painting are 6x6" to the left and 12x12" below.

It is also sea turtle hatching season, and I am preparing to spend some nights on the beach through the summer volunteering to protect these hatchlings and make sure they get to the water. I love it...as I love painting sea turtles. It is a highlight of my living in S. Florida.

While I'm taking time out, a lot is happening anyway behind the scenes preparing for holiday shopping season, a 30 Paintings in 30 Days happening in September, and entering applications for outdoor shows for 2017-2018 Fall and Winter season. Keep up with my exhibitions and festivals!

Preparing for holiday shopping means getting merchandise printed featuring my original paintings. The 30 in 30 will be a painting a day (maybe...I usually come out at 22) and it helps to plan ahead so I can just jump in and paint. And finally, deciding what outdoor shows to enter which is difficult because I want to be in all of them. Ha! An impossible task but such are the inner workings of our desires.
