I approach my subjects as portraiture, whether people, wildlife, flowers or architecture. Recreating the character of the subject through color and a careful, but loose style which combines a propensity for detail with the desire for freedom and motion.
 
Several notable watercolorists known for their loose styles have influenced me and from which I have developed my own technique. Charles Reid workshops, videos and books had the greatest affect on my work bringing me to the 'ah ha' moment. Jean Haines' style has been valuable for color and thinking about 'less is more'. And John Yardley was the first artist that made my heart sing whom I wanted to emulate. His loose architectural style was a very early influence. All artists are different in their own way and I have gained great value from them.
 
My love of nature inspires much of my work. Collectors and followers enjoy my birds, sea turtles, and farm animals. Living in South Florida influences, but does not limit, my choice of subject.
 
I am a member of the Gold Coast Watercolor Society (GCWS), National League of Pen Women, and the Delray Artist League and participate on committees.
 
I exhibit locally both in indoor exhibitions and outdoor art festivals.
